they are two interlinked art forms one cannot exist with out the other both have pluses and minuses manga is visual and lacks some of the best bits about anime which is the god like voice acting and the atmosphere sound can add.. however animation loses detail where as in manga each moment in time can be captured as a perfect work of art it's like where a painting can capture a moment in time and tell a complete story |
