Multimedia is any form of information that uses more than one form of media to present the information. This means that just about all information you will ever see is multimedia. The most common form of multimedia is the combination of text and pictures, this is seen in books, printed advertisements and was the basis for the World Wide Web, but this is often not seen as true multimedia. Also very common is the use of video and animation. This allows the transmission of information that text and pictures find difficult to explain. Video and animation is also generally accompanied by sound and the combination of sound video images and text is often used to convey complex information in situations such as company presentations and in learning environments. The manner in which the information is presented can vary but them most common sources are videos (which can contain text and still images), presentations using presentation software and in automated information kiosks.
When you are dealing with a large scale project it is likely that there will be more than one person working on it perhaps even a series of teams dedicated to a particular role such as programmers, photographers, composers, animators and designers, in these situation it is vital that there is some one to organise the work. This person is the Project Manager. It is the duty of the project manager to take control of the project, manage the people involved and oversee the critical processes of analysis, design, manufacturing and delivery. This can be a tough job when you consider they will be either handling directly or managing the team/person who deals with all the stages.
